When singing, “I surrender all”, do we really mean, “I surrender all except my right to get married”? When we read, “One thing I ask from the LORD, this only do I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life”, do we actually mean, “One thing I ask from the LORD, this only do I seek: that I may get married”? A culture of stirred up love

Many of us Christian women would love to have a boyfriend. We would love someone to cuddle up with in front of a movie on a Friday night. We would love someone to call our own. Basically we would love someone to share emotional intimacy with. Why shouldn’t we want such a relationship? Because such a relationship, biblically, should not exist outside of engagement and marriage.   (more…)

A great danger when relating to men

Imagine you have met a guy and he is totally into you. He calls you non stop to the point of excess. He is ready to cancel any plans he has to be with you. If you are feeling slightly claustrophobic around him and act a little bit colder than usual, he does not mind at all and only wants to spend more time with you. If you start trying to avoid him a little to get your space, he only seems to be more interested. Should women pursue?

Many women’s magazines teach that if a woman wants a man she should go get him.  But in the Bible we see a different pattern.  I cannot find one single example of women taking men as husbands in scripture.  Nor can I find a single example of men being given as husbands to women. (more…)
